Residents in Rainham fled their homes at midnight scared following a party where hundreds attended, some carrying knives and drugs. The party took place on Saturday 14 May on Southall Drive in a property believed to be an Air BNB house.
Residents who live on Southall Drive were appalled and some extremely scared and left their houses at midnight to go to neighbours further down the road due to the anti social behaviour caused by the party goers.
Newly elected councillors Sue Ospreay and Sarah Edwards were at the scene talking to neighbours and looking at the aftermath left behind in the nearby park.
Councillor Sarah Edwards told the Havering Daily:
“The property is believed to be an Air BNB house and had security on the door and it looked like they were charging to go into the party. There were hundreds there and just after 2am police arrived and moved them on from Southall Drive where from there they went to Brookway Park.”
Councillor Edwards was at Brookway Park on Sunday morning where she collected all the left over rubbish left by the party goers.
“Neighbours were terrified and in tears. Some had to go up the road to friends to avoid all the awful anti social behaviour. It was terrible, they were very scared. One man found a knife hidden under his car.”
Councillor Sue Ospreay told the Havering Daily:
“We are appalled at what went on and will be talking to residents today to see what we can do about this. Apparently this is an ongoing issue with that particular property where parties are held regularly. This needs to be addressed urgently and myself and my fellows councillors here in Rainham will be on this matter as a priority.”
