Beam Park Councillors Host Free Energy Doctor Event To Help Residents Cut Bills And Improve Home Energy Efficiency
Residents concerned about rising energy costs, damp and mould, or the condition of their homes are being invited to attend a free Energy Doctor event at Mardyke Community Centre later this month.
The event, organised by Beam Park councillors Matthew Stanton and Trevor McKeever, will take place on Thursday 30 July from 5pm to 7pm and will bring together a range of local organisations offering practical advice, support and signposting.
With many households continuing to face high energy costs, the event aims to help residents identify ways to reduce bills, improve the energy efficiency of their homes and access any grants or support they may be entitled to.
Councillor Matthew Stanton said:
“Many households are paying more than they need to heat their homes. While the weather is warm now, practical steps taken today can make a real difference when temperatures drop later in the year.
“We want residents to be able to speak directly with people who understand these issues and can provide straightforward advice. Whether it’s reducing energy bills, dealing with damp and mould, or finding out what support is available, we hope people will come along and have a chat.”
As well as Energy Doctors, representatives from a range of organisations will be available to offer information and advice on issues often associated with energy inefficient homes, including housing, health and wider support services.
Councillor Trevor McKeever added:
“This is about helping residents access practical support before problems become bigger and more expensive to deal with. We’re bringing together a number of services in one place so people can get information, ask questions and explore the support available to them.”
The event is free to attend and no appointment is necessary.

Residents can simply drop in during the session and speak with advisers and organisations attending on the day.
