Drone Footage Reveals Devastating Impact of Ingrebourne Valley Fires as Calls Grow for Urgent Action.
Shocking drone footage video and photographs captured has revealed the devastating aftermath of Saturday’s major fire at Ingrebourne Hill, laying bare the destruction left behind across one of Havering’s most important green spaces. The blaze saw 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters called into action and burned through around 10 hectares of grassland, leaving behind scorched earth and destroyed wildlife habitat.

The aerial footage shows the true scale of the devastation, with vast areas of blackened ground where thriving grassland once stood.
For many residents, the images are a stark reminder that these fires are not simply patches of burnt grass. They destroy habitats that countless birds, insects, reptiles and small mammals rely upon, leaving lasting damage to the local environment.
The fire also placed significant pressure on the London Fire Brigade, with firefighters spending hours battling the fast-moving blaze in extremely challenging conditions. Every fire engine committed to tackling a wildfire is one that is temporarily unavailable to respond to other emergencies elsewhere.
Residents living nearby were once again forced to contend with thick smoke drifting across the area, with the London Fire Brigade advising people to keep their windows and doors closed while crews worked to bring the incident under control.
The latest blaze has added to growing concern following a series of fires across Havering in recent weeks, including multiple incidents at Ingrebourne Hill.
Many residents are now calling for urgent action to help prevent further fires and protect the borough’s green spaces, wildlife and emergency services.
