Havering Police Empowering Women Through Awareness, Confidence And Safety Training.
Women across the community were given practical life-saving skills and confidence-building advice during a powerful training session delivered by Metropolitan Police officer safety instructors.
The bespoke session focused on building situational awareness, recognising potential risks and empowering women with practical strategies to safely remove themselves from uncomfortable situations.

Delivered by experienced Metropolitan Police Service officer safety instructors, the event created a supportive and engaging space for learning, discussion and shared experiences.
Women who attended described the session as extremely useful, with many saying they had learnt valuable new skills and perspectives they can apply in everyday life.

The session began with a short but impactful presentation exploring situational awareness and how to recognise early warning signs before situations escalate.
This was followed by interactive discussion-based activities where participants explored:
- confidence and personal presence,
- practical decision-making strategies,
- and ways to safely navigate different environments.
One of the most powerful aspects of the event was the openness of the discussions, with attendees sharing personal experiences, reflecting on challenges and supporting one another throughout the session.
Participants left feeling more informed, more aware and more confident in their ability to recognise risks and make safer decisions in a variety of situations.

A special thank you was given to the Learning and Development team who delivered the training, including:
- PS Vicky Nasmyth-Miller,
- PC Claire Pearce,
- and PC Aisling Maloney.
Their professionalism, passion and commitment to supporting women in the community was praised throughout the event.
A/Inspector Jayshree Patel told the Havering Daily:
“As a female police officer, it was incredibly important to support a session that empowers women with the awareness and confidence to keep themselves safe. Hearing the honest conversations and seeing the impact this training had has been truly inspiring. I am really proud of what has been delivered today, and I hope we can continue to provide more sessions like this in the future.”
The session marks another important step in helping women feel safer, stronger and more empowered in their daily lives.
Well done to Havering police for this fantastic session.
