Independent Film Celebrating English Cider Craft Comes To Lumiere Romford
Local photographer Andrew Conway’s gentle documentary follows the people, heritage and skill behind small-batch cider.
An independently produced film about one of Britain’s leading craft cider-makers is coming to Lumiere Romford on Monday 14 September.
A Ciderist’s Journey with Tom Oliver was made by local photographer Andrew Conway and explores the work of Herefordshire-based cider and perry producer Tom Oliver.
Organisers describe the hour-long film as a gentle exploration of small-scale cider production and the people preserving one of England’s traditional rural crafts.
The evening at Lumiere, located within The Mercury shopping centre in Romford, is scheduled to begin at 6pm. The film will start at 7.30pm and will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Tom Oliver is based on a farm in Ocle Pychard, Herefordshire, where cider and perry are made using fruit grown in traditional orchards. His work has helped introduce distinctive English cider to drinkers in Britain and overseas.
The screening has been organised with support from The Hop Inn in Hornchurch, a venue that has repeatedly been recognised for its cider selection.
The film offers Havering audiences an opportunity to see an independently produced local project on the big screen and hear more about its creation afterwards.
