Record Turnout As More Than 100 Golfers Support Sycamore Trust At Maylands
Sycamore Trust UK says its annual golf day has doubled in size since 2022, with more than 100 people taking part in what the charity described as its best event yet.
The charity’s latest golf day took place at Maylands Golf Club and attracted a record turnout, with Sycamore Trust also reporting a record fundraising total from the event.
When the event first launched in 2022, 48 players took part. Four years later, that figure has more than doubled.
Sycamore Trust thanked everyone who supported the day, including event sponsors Kaz and George from Aurum Fox, who sponsored the trophies and the Hole in One competition, as well as Paul Taylor, who the charity said has played an important role in making the event possible.
The competition was won by Ian Divers with 44 points. Adam Cox also finished on 44 points, with Ian taking first place on countback. Wayne Banks of Brightside Cleaning finished third.
Other trophies were awarded for the putting competition, Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive.
Sycamore Trust UK supports autistic and neurodiverse people and their families across the local area, including through services and support groups in Havering.
Following this year’s success, the charity has already booked the next annual golf day for 10 September next year.
