Ian Swann and Kimberley Gould – H.R.A Candidates for St Albans

The Havering Daily is running a list of the different candidates across Havering in preparation for the local elections on May 5.

Today we have Ian Swann and Kimberley Gould, H.R.A Candidates for St Albans.

Ian Swann lived in Douglas Road until 2009 then we both lived in Princes Road from 2009 to 2012, Ian worked in Reeves Electrical between 1989 and 2017 (28 years). Ian was a major part of the local community during his time in Reeves, helping local people with their electrical problems. Kimberley Gould was a regular visitor to the Parish Church of St Albans, Princes Road when we lived there and she ran Weight Watchers Meetings in Frances Bardsley School and Holy Cross Church Hall in Park Lane.  Ian visited local shops and Tescos Roneo Corner on many occasions dressed in his Storm Trooper Armour raising money for Little Havens Hospice.  Kimberley and Ian are both Foster Parents.

The main issues we have become aware of in St Albans Ward are the state of roads, rubbish around Park lane/Albert Road/Brentwood Road, and parking restrictions affecting local roads with parking permits affecting passing trade to local businesses. Globe Road has parking issues with blocked road issues around school drop-offs and pick up times.   Craigdale has road problems and with the alleyway behind the group of houses, where residents want gates to prevent anti-social behaviour. We are also concerned about property safety, and the many break-ins which have been reported.

Both Kimberley and Ian will continue to campaign against sky-high parking charges, potholes, pavements in serious need of repair, unswept streets and missed bin collections.  It’s time to show the current administration the door and for the borough to be better managed by local residents for local residents it is our Havering after all.
