Upminster pensioner donates knitted bears to police officers for vulnerable children.

Margaret from Upminster yesterday visited Romford police station to hand over handmade knitted bears for vulnerable children.

The pensioner has spent days making the bears to help children in difficult circumstances and yesterday, Wednesday 27 April had the opportunity to hand the bears over to police officers.

Margaret told the Havering Daily:

“I saw the appeal on Crimewatch that they needed teddies for children and they even provided the pattern to make them.

“I do a lot of knitting and thought that it would be a nice idea to make some for our local police station here in Havering.”

The pensioner spent days making six bears and one knitted police officer for children who attend the police station for many different reasons.

Margaret is an amazing community champion who also donates clothes to Queen’s Hospital for premature babies.

Well done Margaret!
