Today, the Havering Daily starts a new series featuring women in policing. We will be looking at the amazing work these ladies do across our capital and the service they provide to our communities.
Detective Christie Lim is based at East Area covering Havering, Redbridge and Barking and Dagenham, working in Public Protection dealing with sexual offences, child abuse and domestic violence. She has been a police officer for 13 years and joined the Metropolitan Police because she wanted to help people and make a difference in our community.
She told the Havering Daily: “I love doing my job, I love working in Public Protection, I feel very strongly about helping both men and women who are victims of domestic violence and those who are victims of sexual offences. I want to help these victims and safeguard them as best as I can.
Christie is also part of a team called ‘Met Families and Met Babies’. She added: “We are there to support any females who are pregnant and anyone on maternity or paternity leave, keeping them up to date and offering them support. I’m a mum myself of two children and I know how hard it was to come back and not have that support, so that is what we work on to help others.”
Christie is an amazing police officer who balances a tough role alongside being a mother and a wife. She strives to help others in the community and make a difference in their lives. Policing is a challenging job and balancing that with motherhood is a difficult task but Christie does this well and is there daily to help those in need.
