Happy Birthday Gallows Corner Works! One Year On And Still Not Finished.
Today marked a rather unusual anniversary in Havering as the borough celebrated one full year of roadworks at Gallows Corner.
Councillor Keith Prince celebrating Gallows Corner works first birthday-NOT
Havering’s Leader of the Council and London Assembly Member for Havering and Redbridge, Councillor Keith Prince, was joined by Marshalls Park Councillor Bailey Nash-Gardner at the famous junction to mark the occasion.
The pair arrived with a banner and even a specially made cake to commemorate what has become one of Havering’s longest-running and most talked-about infrastructure projects and what has now being described as a farce

It was exactly one year ago that works first began at Gallows Corner, with residents initially expecting the disruption to last just a matter of months.
Twelve months later, however, the cones remain, the barriers are still firmly in place, and motorists continue to navigate the now all-too-familiar traffic delays.
What was originally billed as a temporary inconvenience has become a saga that has tested the patience of residents, commuters and businesses alike, with completion dates repeatedly pushed back as further challenges have emerged.
Speaking at the junction, Councillor Prince acknowledged the frustration felt across the borough and confirmed that he will shortly be undertaking a site visit with Essex and Suffolk Water.
Following that visit, Councillor Prince says he will provide residents with a further update on progress and the latest expected timescales for completion.

While the cake may have been a light-hearted way of marking the occasion, many residents will undoubtedly be hoping that Gallows Corner does not get the opportunity to celebrate a second birthday.
After all, nobody wants to find themselves singing “Happy Birthday” to a set of roadworks again next year.

everyone is being told that they work 24/7 big fat lie , only people working is the site security ( that’s if you classify sitting in a van and opening gates work).Heads must role starting with Khan and the senior project managers of ESW and TFL/Costain as they are clearly delusional and incompetent and should never be allowed projects such as this in future or acting as mayor of London.
