Havering Interfaith Forum To Explore How Faith Understands Suffering And Hardship
The free Romford gathering will bring different Faith perspectives together, with attendees invited to bring food to share.
Havering Interfaith Forum is inviting residents to an evening exploring how different faiths understand suffering and hardship.
The event, titled How Does Our Faith Understand Why We Suffer From Hardships?, will take place at St Edward’s Church, Market Place, Romford, RM1 3AB, at 7pm on Wednesday 9 September.
Organisers say the discussion will consider experiences including pain, loss, illness, challenges and calamities, with speakers offering perspectives from a range of faith traditions.
Guest speakers listed on the event poster include Sidra Naeem, a Muslim chaplain, Jewish speaker Dovid Shaw and Bahá’í speaker John Lester, alongside other contributors.
The evening is open to everyone. The organisers have not stated that advance booking is required.
Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share during dinner together. Free parking is available inside the church car park.
Havering Interfaith Forum holds regular events designed to encourage dialogue and understanding between people of different religions and backgrounds. Its previous discussion considered how faith communities cope with bereavement.
