Havering Clean Air campaigners join London Air Coalition.
Activist and campaigner Ruth Kettle-Frisby today writes in the Havering Daily:
Clear the Air Havering and Havering Climate Coalition have joined many other organisations to form London Air Coalition, organised by Mums for Lungs.
We invite our fellow Havering residents to join us in looking beyond political attempts to create division, and urge allmayoral candidates to the right thing by our children and be a #Mayor4CleanAir.
Medical opinion continues to reveal that current levels of air pollution – which fail to meet World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines – have serious health implications for our children. Therefore, it is vital that our political representatives recognise their duty of care to act on this information.
If you type your own, or your child’s school or nursery postcode into the addresspollution online tool, you can see for yourself that air pollution levels far exceed World Health Organisation guidelines.
Children deserve to breathe in clean air as a basic right, and so please join us in our campaign for a responsible #Mayor4CleanAir with the courage and integrity to stand up for clean air, climate action and social justice, including in outer boroughs like Havering.
So, grab your photo ID (https://www.londonelects.org.uk/im-voter/voter-id-information) and demand a #Mayor4CleanAir for the sake of our children’s health and a cleaner greener Havering on May 2nd.

We have created community pages where we will share our up-to-date stories happening in the area. Add the area closest to where you live.
That will mean voting for a candidate who will not roll back the extension of the clean air measures or oppose speed restrictions and traffic calming initiatives in residential areas and near schools.
