Man Arrested After Harold Hill Assault Leaves Man With Head Injuries
A man has been arrested after an alleged assault in Harold Hill left a man requiring hospital treatment.
Police were called at around 2.24pm on Saturday 20 June to reports of an incident at the Hilldene shopping centre, Farnham Road.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a 32-year-old man suffering from head injuries.
The injured man, who is known to many residents in Harold Hill and around the Hilldene Shopping Centre, was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have since confirmed that he has been discharged.
The incident is believed to have followed an altercation on Farnham Road, although the circumstances surrounding what happened remain under investigation, is believed and argument broke out and then a fight ensued.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“At around 14:24hrs on Saturday, 20 June, police were called to reports of an assault on Farnham Road, Romford.
“Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and located a 32-year-old man with injuries to the head. He was taken to hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.
“A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody. The 32-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of harassment.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD4416/20JUN2026 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
Police enquiries remain ongoing.
