Help bring Christmas cheer to local hospital patients with a chocolate orange

Residents, businesses, schools and community groups are being invited to donate a festive treat for patients at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

A chocolate orange could help bring a little festive cheer to a local hospital patient this Christmas.

An appeal shared with The Havering Daily by community supporter Jon Gildersleeve is encouraging people across the area to show their kindness by donating chocolate oranges for patients at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Individuals, local businesses, schools and community groups are all invited to take part. Whether you can contribute one chocolate orange or organise a collection with friends or colleagues, the appeal offers a simple way to support local patients during the festive season.

Donations can be delivered to Queen’s Hospital in Romford or sent by post, marked for the attention of Deborah Edwards, Head of Patient Experience Team.

According to the appeal, anyone delivering chocolate oranges to Queen’s Hospital should take them to the main reception desk on the ground floor, opposite Costa Coffee. The desk is open Monday to Sunday, from 7.30am to 7pm.

Anyone wishing to drop off donations at King George Hospital in Goodmayes is asked to email bhrut.patientexperience@nhs.net beforehand so the team can arrange for someone to meet them and receive their donation.

Postal donations should be addressed to:

Deborah Edwards
Head of Patient Experience Team
Queen’s Hospital
Rom Valley Way
Romford
Essex
RM7 0AG

With Christmas approaching, readers are encouraged to share the appeal with friends, neighbours and local groups who might also like to help spread some festive kindness.
