Teenagers chased by gang in attempted robbery scare on Rainham street.

Police are appealing for information after two teenage boys were reportedly targeted by a group of men in an attempted robbery in Rainham.

The incident is believed to have taken place earlier on Wednesday 6 May on Upminster Road South. Police were called at 2:48pm following reports of the attempted robbery.

A 17 year old boy told officers that he and another teenager had been approached by three men who allegedly attempted to rob them before chasing them through the area.

The suspects fled the scene shortly afterwards.

Thankfully no injuries were reported, but the incident has raised concerns among local residents about safety in the area.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told the Havering Daily that officers carried out initial enquiries and are continuing to investigate.

Police are now urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to contact them on 101 quoting CAD 4730/6May.
