The Mayor of Havering joined the Beam Park HRA team, HRA councillors and local residents to commemorate ANZAC Day and honour those who served and sacrificed.

The short ceremony on Dovers Farm Village Green marked the annual day of remembrance for Australian and New Zealand service personnel, with the community coming together to pay their respects.

ANZAC Day, held each year on 25 April, recognises the bravery and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand forces, particularly those who served during the First World War. It has since become a wider moment of reflection for all those who have served in conflicts around the world.

Residents and local representatives gathered in Beam Park to observe the occasion, reflecting on the importance of remembrance and the enduring legacy of those who gave their lives in service.

The presence of the Mayor alongside councillors and community members highlighted the significance of marking such events locally, ensuring that the sacrifices made by past generations continue to be honoured within the community.

Those attending said it was important to come together to remember, particularly at a local level, where shared moments of reflection help keep history and sacrifice at the forefront of community life.
