Community Urged to Support Life-Saving Appeal
Community champion Sue Hedges is continuing a powerful mission to help save lives across Havering, raising funds to install vital bleed kits in memory of her son Ricky Hayden.
The initiative, which is backed by the Mayor of Havering, Cllr Sue Ospreay, focuses on increasing the number of publicly accessible bleed control kits across the borough, providing essential equipment that can be used in emergencies before paramedics arrive.
Bleed kits are designed to help members of the public respond quickly to serious injuries, particularly those involving heavy bleeding, where immediate action can make the difference between life and death.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards funding additional kits, helping to ensure more areas across Havering are equipped to respond in an emergency.
Residents are being encouraged to come together and support the appeal, highlighting the importance of community-led initiatives in improving public safety.

The Mayor told the Havering Daily, “The campaign is about more than fundraising, it is about creating a safer borough and giving people the tools they need to act in critical situations.“
