Romford’s Fantastic Diwali Celebrations Postponed Due To Expected High Winds.
Romford BID, HASWA, Havering Changing and Clarion Futures are sorry to announce that this Sunday’s planned Diwali celebration in Romford will not go ahead as scheduled due to forecast high winds and significant safety concerns. Our marquee supplier has also withdrawn from the event due to concerns about the high winds.
This has been an extremely difficult decision, particularly given the time, effort and enthusiasm that all our partners have invested in bringing this special celebration to the community. We know how much Diwali means to so many people, and how eagerly families, residents and visitors have been looking forward to coming together to celebrate the Festival of Light in Romford.
However, the good news is that the celebration is being rescheduled to Sunday 1 November 2026. We are working through the necessary arrangements and will share further details shortly.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding, and look forward to welcoming the community to celebrate Diwali together in Romford on Sunday 1 November 2026.
