A group of talented young dancers from Rainham and Dagenham are chasing a dream of a lifetime after earning the chance to perform on an stage in Las Vegas.

Elevation Performance Academy, based in Essex, was crowned The Best Dance School of the South East at the National Entertainment Awards in January 2025. The prestigious win has opened the door to an incredible opportunity for 20 of their dancers, aged between 6 and 16, to perform in Las Vegas in 2026.

For many of the children, this will be their first time travelling abroad and their first experience performing on a world class stage. It is a moment that promises not only excitement, but also the chance to build confidence, gain international experience and create lifelong memories.

However, behind the excitement lies a significant challenge. The academy is now working hard to raise funds to cover the costs of training, costumes, props, uniforms and travel, ensuring that every dancer can take part regardless of their financial situation.

The local community has already begun stepping up to support the cause. Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial recently praised Hailey Grant of Childhood Memories Traditional Sweets for raising £230 towards life saving Daniel Baird bleed bags, with a further £56 generously donated to Elevation Performance Academy to support the dancers’ trip.

A replacement bleed bag was also donated to Fanshawe Community Centre after the previous one was removed, highlighting the continued efforts of local people to support both safety initiatives and youth opportunities within the community.

Now, organisers are calling on residents and businesses to get behind the dancers and help turn their Las Vegas dream into a reality. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help these young performers represent their community and the UK on an international stage.

Those wishing to support the fundraiser are encouraged to donate and play a part in helping these young stars shine on one of the world’s biggest stages.
