Chaos Erupts as Youths Hurl Objects During Street Fight in Hornchurch.

Hornchurch was once again the scene of troubling disorder last night as a large group of youths gathered and began fighting near the Methodist Church, raising serious questions about how this growing issue can be tackled.

At around 8.30pm, between 20 and 25 teenagers were reportedly involved in the disturbance, which quickly escalated. Objects were thrown during the incident, and a passing motorcyclist was knocked off his bike after a traffic cone was hurled at him. Thankfully, he was not seriously injured and was helped back onto his bike by a member of the public.

Residents described the situation as frightening, with one witness saying it “felt unsafe” as the disorder continued and items were still being thrown even after the initial incident.

Police have been working hard to tackle anti social behaviour across the borough, issuing Section 35 dispersal orders and carrying out high visibility patrols in known hotspots. Officers continue to respond swiftly to incidents like this, working to keep residents safe despite increasing pressures.

With the Easter school holidays now underway, concerns are growing about how many more incidents like this could take place. Large groups gathering, combined with ongoing pressures on police resources, present a significant challenge.

So the question many residents are now asking is clear — how do we tackle this?

Residents are being urged to report incidents and work with police, as officers continue their efforts to address anti social behaviour and maintain order across Havering.

This is a powder keg ready to explode. Just like Clapham last night and last Saturday where hundreds of youths took over the high street and robbed Stores. Years of under funding has left our Police short staffed and out of touch. There is no respect for Police from certain age groups who know officers hands are tied. Social Media make is easy for groups to gather at short notice Stop and Search was a deterrent but to many woke and namby pandys wanted it stopped. They can find thousands of officers to police Gaza and Iran protests but can never find enough to swamp areas where trouble erupts
