Exclusive: Romford MP Hits Out After Being Locked Out of Margaret Thatcher House Calling Act ‘Spiteful and Irresponsible’
The Romford MP has hit out after being locked out of his constituency office at Margaret Thatcher House, calling the move “spiteful and irresponsible.”
The ongoing legal challenge has seen Mr Rosindell denied immediate access to the office, which he says is hindering him from accessing his private papers, equipment, case files and personal property.
Mr Rosindell spoke exclusively to the Havering Daily, saying:
“The matter of Margaret Thatcher House remains unsolved. It still has to have a full hearing. This decision was not to allow me immediate access to MTH on the basis that it is currently being used for local elections. I believe that what has happened is unlawful. I am being denied access to my private papers, equipment, case files and personal property, despite having a lease on the office that remains valid until 2029. It is completely wrong that any MP can be excluded from their Constituency Office, which is taxpayer-funded and covered by high-level security provided by Parliament, without notice and with no proper process having been carried out.”
The battle began when the locks were changed at the Western Road site following Mr Rosindell’s departure from the Conservative Party, sparking the legal challenge.
He added:
“The decision to change the locks to MTH one night without warning was a spiteful and irresponsible act. I believe the CCHQ-appointed ‘Chairman’ of the RCA is acting out of revenge and not in the best interests of the people of Romford or with the support of local Conservative members, many of whom have said they are shocked and appalled by the actions of this bureaucrat. I believe that every MP should have access to their constituency office, and this is about fairness and proper process.”
This is an ongoing battle, with a full hearing still to take place, and Mr Rosindell told the Havering Daily:
“I will continue to fight to access my office and ensure my constituents are properly represented. I will not be silenced or excluded from the work I was elected to do.”

I’ve no time for the Conservatives, but they are absolutely right on this.
How on earth can Mr Rosindell think, in all seriousness, that he can just walk into a rival party’s campaign office whenever he likes – especially as they’ll quite likely be plotting their election strategy for May 7th.
The man is a complete and utter deluded moron.
Sounds as if Mr Rosindell made a risky play and lost. If he’d taken the law’s rebuke with a cheeky laugh one might have granted him some roguish charm. But this reaction is that of a spoiled brat and not what one expects of a law-maker.
He could always take his case to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, I guess.
Why hasn’t Reform sorted their own office out? It’s been months. Andrew can use his Westminster office in the interim.
A Reform MP expecting to use the Conservative Office sounds either deluded very very entitled.
