The RAC has issued important tips for driving in the snow and icy conditions.

Be prepared and pack the following essential items.

Scraper and De-icer.

Warm clothes and blankets.

Food and drink.

Power Bank / charger.

Boots with a good grip.

If you find that your car won’t start it could be due to one of the following:

Car battery.

Aleternator.

Start Motor.

Fuel system.

Incorrect oil.

Please make sure your windscreen are cleared properly and your vision is not obstructed.

Plan your journey ahead. Leave more time for your journey. Check your wipers and your tyres.

Wear dry footwear.

Accelerate gently and use low revs and change up to a higher gear as quickly as possible.

Move off in second gear as this will help reduce wheel slip. Get your speed right and maintain a safe distance between you and the car in front leaving as much as ten times the normal recommended gap.

Please see the RAC links below for driving in the snow and winter conditions.
