Romford Horror Festival a definite proof that people are ready to get back to normal life.

The towns maybe quiet, but a tremor is occurring in time for 25th February as Romford second Horror festival begins. The festival that began last year after the long lockdown, was popular from the offset, but now moving forward its reputation has already grown.

So far around 400 people will be in attendance for the festival which is showing 68 feature films and short horror movies over three packed days. The films are all independent horror films made with budgets that start at zero and go up to around £400,000, featuring in the mix are films from across the globe and as local as Romford, Canvey Island and Southend. The festival runs out of Premiere cinema at the Mercury Shopping Centre from the 25th to the 27th of February.

Festival director Spencer Hawken said:

“It’s amazing to see the volume of interest straight after the lifting of restrictions, we have filmmakers flying in from as far as Israel to represent their films and attendees travelling from across the UK to watch films, which will be good for the towns retail, food offer and hotels. Unlike last year however we have a variety of stalls to support the films being shown. Rick Melton, Noufaux are two artists attending the festival to sell their art, Rick is best known for designing artwork for Arrow Video releases and Darkside Magazine, while Noufaux classic horror inspired artwork is all the rage on the festival circuit. Also in attendance horror author P,J. Norris will be selling his books and there will be a stall selling movies.

“Horror movie watching is often a lonely experience, a horror enthusiast often has nobody to share their passions withintheir friend and relationship circles, however horror film festivals offer the warmest of welcomes to those that want to go it alone, over the three days we’ll introduce them to likeminded souls who often become friends for life.”

This year’s line up includes Canvey Island comedy horror Manfish, Tales Of Creeping Death staring Ricky Tomlinson and the return of last years popular squid creature in Extraneous Matter: Complete Edition. The event includes a bar with horror themed cocktails for £5 each including Manfish and Chips.

The full line up can be found at www.romfordfilmfestival.comwhere you can buy day passes for £15 each, a full festival pass (with Goodie bag) for £32 or individual sessions available for just £4.
