Missed Bin Collections Across Havering as Council Confirms Ongoing Waste Service Disruption.
Residents across Havering have reported missed rubbish and green waste collections this week, with some saying bins have been left unemptied as disruption continues to affect the borough’s waste service.
Following a number of reports from residents, Havering Council has confirmed that there is currently ongoing disruption to waste collections.
A Havering Council spokesperson told the Havering Daily:
“There is currently some ongoing service disruption to waste collections due initially to vehicle fleet issues, which was caused by the recent hot weather.
“These delays are continuing to impact some waste collections, and the Council’s waste contractor are deploying additional resources this weekend to catch up on the missed collections.
“We kindly request that residents check our website before reporting a missed collection, as we may already be set to return to their street the following day to clear any outstanding waste.”
The council says additional crews will be working over the weekend in an effort to catch up on missed collections and minimise further disruption.
Residents whose bins have not been emptied are being asked to check the council’s website before reporting a missed collection, as a return visit to their street may already be scheduled.
Residents affected by the disruption are advised to leave their bins out if they are expecting a return collection and to follow the latest updates from Havering Council.
