Fantastic Work By Havering Joint Task Forces Officers Sees Five Charged With Burglary After Brazen Hornchurch Store Robbery.
Following the fantastic swift response of Havering Joint Task Force officers, three men and two women have been charged with burglary and theft following the shocking incident at the Boots store on Hornchurch High Street on Wednesday 22 July.
The individuals were charged on Thursday, 23 April.
- Ricky Virdee, 37 (07.08.88) of Beechwood Gardens, Ilford, has been charged with burglary. He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 July.
- Damian Linsey, 46 (13.10.1979) of Barrowfield Close, Edmonton, has been charged with burglary. He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 July.
- Samuel Boateng, 46 (28.07.1979) of Manor Park, Newham, has been charged with burglary. He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 July.
- Clare Daly, 41 (17.09.1984) of Manor Park, Newham, has been charged with burglary. She has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 July.
- Margaret Lander, 32 (07.04.94) of Manton Road, Enfield, has been charged with burglary. She has been bailed to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 7 August.
Superintendent Sharon Brind, who leads neighbourhood policing in the area, said:
“The Met continues to take reports of shoplifting and commercial burglary incredibly seriously. I’m pleased we’ve been able to secure charges so swiftly following this incident.”
On Wednesday, 22 July at around 16:15hrs, police were called to reports of an ongoing commercial robbery on Hornchurch High Street.
Officers attended within minutes and managed the scene. The suspects had already left the location in a vehicle.
Police conducted an area search, identifying and intercepting the vehicle in Southend Road less than 30 minutes later.”
There were no reported injuries to staff or members of the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD5481/22JUL26.
