The Hop Inn Micropub has been awarded two prestigious London-wide Pub of the Year titles in the last few weeks, culminating in the Pub of The Year prize being presented on Monday, 6th December.
Despite only seating a small number of guests and opening in December 2019, just prior to the pandemic restrictions, The Hop Inn, in North Street Hornchurch, has beaten off stiff competition from pubs of all sizes all over London, to win the accolade.
The owners Phil Cooke and Alison Taffs, along with their team including Andrew Conway and Fraser Clarke, were handed two awards by the CAMRA London Regional committees. They were first told they had been named London Cider Pub of the Year in November, and the team were thrilled. Alison told the Havering Daily: “We champion real, whole fruit cider and perry from Kent and all over the country, so we were delighted to be named the best pub in London to drink cider.”
“When we found out we had been named the best pub in the whole of London by CAMRA, we were astonished and thrilled. We had been visited by over 50 of the CAMRA judges from all over London and came out on top from their judging. “For such a new pub, especially with all the challenges of 2021, we are incredibly proud and honored” said Phil
The Hop Inn is open Tuesday to Sunday and have a specialist beer, cider & wine shop, The Hop Shop right next door.
