Libraries to stay open for click and collect and Romford market food stalls to still trade.

Following the second lock down Havering council staff and councillors have worked non stop to try and keep the borough going as much as they can.

As the Government introduced the new guidelines after enforcing a second lock down, councillors and council staff have worked tirelessly to keep the borough going as much as possible.

Libraries are going to remain open for click and collect and people who do not have access to the internet at home, can book a slot to use computers.

Romford market food stalls can still trade to keep some of the market going. Day care centres will remain open as will parks and play areas for children.

Havering’s Leader of the Council, Councillor Damian White told the Havering Daily: “Our council staff are real heroes, they have worked tirelessly from March until now making sure our residents keep going throughout these lockdown periods. They have done an incredible job keeping the community going to the best of their ability.”

A Hornchurch woman who has been supported by the council during the first lock down and now again in the second lockdown told the Havering Daily: “These council officers are really amazing. They have really helped me out earlier and are now doing the same to look after me.

“I want to thank the Leader, Councillor White for working non stop for us here in Havering and having such great staff. I know they don’t often get thanked, so thank you!”
