Councillor Perry hits out at the Romford MP

Following the Havering Daily’s earlier story regarding the Romford MP Andrew Rosindell, Councillor Bob Perry has issued his response.

Having read the news article just published in respect to Mr Rosindell’s comments I can assure you that I have misled no one, the misleading he eludes to was carried out entirely by Councillor White. I attach the transcript of the meeting to allow the public the opportunity to reach their own conclusion.

He is correct when he states that the Boundary Commission has the final say, but what he fails to point out is that the decision taken by them is based on the fact that the submitted proposal falls within the BC’s rules and that it’s submission is based around ” Community” and not for political gain. This was clearly not the case as the recording proves.

It has not been my intention as Andrew alleges to whip up anything, I am merely presenting the facts and as I have already said the deception in this case certainly did not come from me.

As to his suggestion that I should apologise to Damian White, it is he that should be apologising to the good people of Havering for the contempt he has shown toward them, especially the residents of Hornchurch and Upminster, not only for his dishonesty in the gerrymandering attempt but for most of his actions since he has been leader, and I use that term loosely.

I have, through Time FM, requested of Damian that he take part, in a head-to-head interview with me, live on radio in order for the public to hear the truth, not the spin put out by himself and Mr Rossindell. I say it again for the fourth time, Damian accept my challenge and let the public decide. If he, as he states has done nothing wrong, what does he have to lose?

Many must wonder if we have a ‘man or a mouse’ ‘running the Council. If both Mr Rosindale and Mr White are so adamant that the latter has done nothing wrong, then Mr White should take up Mr Perry’s challenge to a live debate on radio. That way, as Mr Perry states, ‘the public can decide’. Well, Mr White, as Mr Rosindale agrees with you, and no doubt your fellow council members do too; do you have the courage of your convictions to accept the challenge? I suspect not because in reality I’m sure he knows he would not be able to justify that what he has said, isn’t gerrymandering. I guess the residents of Havering know exactly what Mr White is…
