Car hits central reservation as driver flees the scene.

Both Lanes of the A12 westbound have been re-opened following an accident earlier this morning.

Just before 4am this morning a black car believed to be speeding, hit the central reservation, bounced onto a white parked vehicle smashing it, then landed in the middle of the road just near Heath Drive in Romford.

Emergency services closed part of the road to remove the damaged vehicles. The driver of the black car is believed to have left the scene running following the collision.

No reported injuries and both sections of the road have now been cleared and re-opened.
