RAINHAM SERIAL FLY-TIPPER JAILED AFTER DUMPING RUBBISH ACROSS BRENTWOOD AS COUNCIL TAKES TOUGH ACTION
A repeat fly-tipper who dumped waste at locations across Brentwood has been jailed for nine months after a council investigation uncovered a series of offences, with his vehicle also taken away and a five-year ban imposed on carrying waste in the borough.
Daniel Hadley-from Rainham, has been sentenced to nine months in prison after pleading guilty to four fly-tipping offences committed across the Brentwood borough.
The case followed an investigation by Brentwood Borough Council’s Environmental Enforcement Team, working alongside partner organisations.
Hadley was also handed a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order, preventing him from becoming involved in waste-carrying activities within Brentwood.
His vehicle was forfeited as part of the court’s orders.
The sentence represents a significant enforcement action against someone the council described as a repeat fly-tipper.
Brentwood Borough Council said fly-tipping causes damage to communities and the environment while also creating costs for taxpayers.
The authority said the result demonstrated its determination to pursue people suspected of environmental offences and take enforcement action where evidence supports a prosecution.
The council has also appealed to residents to report fly-tipping, saying information provided by the public can help officers investigate offences and identify those responsible.
The case comes amid continued concerns about fly-tipping across Essex, with councils facing the ongoing challenge of dealing with illegally dumped waste in rural areas, roadsides and public spaces.
For Brentwood, the latest prosecution sends a clear message that those convicted of repeatedly dumping waste can face more than simply the cost of clearing it away.
In Hadley’s case, the consequences included a nine-month prison sentence, the loss of his vehicle and a five-year restriction on waste-carrying activities in Brentwood.
