Ingrebourne Hill Dog Walkers Say Thank You to Firefighters After Summer of Devastating Fires.

A group of dog walkers who regularly enjoy Ingrebourne Hill have come together to show their heartfelt appreciation to the firefighters who have worked tirelessly to tackle the repeated fires and keep the community safe.

The group, who regularly meet while walking their dogs around Ingrebourne Hill, say they have been deeply affected by the recent fires which have repeatedly hit the area this summer.

Watching firefighters repeatedly attend the blazes has left the dog walkers wanting to do something to show their gratitude.

So, on Saturday, a group of them visited Wennington Fire Station to personally thank the firefighters for their incredible work.

They arrived with small gestures of appreciation for the crews, wanting to let them know just how much their efforts have been noticed by the local community.

But they didn’t stop there.

The group has also donated £120 to the Fire Fighters Charity as another way of saying thank you.

For the dog walkers, the firefighters have been working in difficult conditions throughout the summer, repeatedly tackling fires across the area while temperatures have soared and grassland has remained extremely dry.

Ingrebourne Hill is a much-loved part of the local community, used every day by walkers, families, dog owners and residents wanting to enjoy the countryside on their doorstep.

The repeated fires have caused huge concern among those who use the area.

But alongside that concern has come enormous admiration for the firefighters who have continued to turn out whenever they have been needed.

The dog walkers wanted to make sure the crews knew that their work has not gone unnoticed.

Their message was simple:

Thank you for keeping our community safe.

And it is a message that deserves to be echoed across Havering.

Our firefighters have faced an incredibly demanding summer, responding to grass and wildfires in extremely challenging conditions.

They have worked long hours, often in intense heat, tackling dangerous fires and protecting homes, people and the environment.

So today, let’s give them the recognition they deserve.

To every firefighter who has stood on the front line this summer thank you.
