The Havering Daily Launches New Lost and Found Pets Platform to Support Local Pet Owners
The Havering Daily is introducing a new Lost and Found Pets tool designed to help local residents share missing, found and sighting reports quickly across the borough.
The new online service, Havering Lost & Found Pets, has been created to give pet owners, finders and residents a simple way to report lost or found animals and help reunite them with their families.
More than just a listing, the platform has been designed to actively help bring pets home. Each pet gets its own dedicated webpage, making it easy to share details with friends, neighbours, local groups and on social media. Residents can also submit sightings directly through the page, helping owners receive useful information in one place.
The tool also allows lost pets to appear in key locations across The Havering Daily website, helping reports reach more local readers.
Features include dedicated lost pet pages, an interactive lost pets map, public sighting reports from residents, downloadable MISSING posters, email updates and optional social media boosts.
Pet owners can upload details such as the pet’s name, type, colour, last seen location, date and photographs. The system then creates a public page that can be shared easily, along with a poster that can be printed and placed in shops, vets, community centres, noticeboards and local streets.
There is also support for found pet reports, allowing residents who have found an animal to create a report and help the owner come forward safely.
A spokesperson for The Havering Daily said:
“We know how distressing it is when a pet goes missing. Local people already do an incredible job sharing posts in community groups, but information can quickly become scattered. This tool gives each lost or found pet one clear page, with sightings, updates and sharing options all in one place.”
The Havering Daily hopes the service will become a useful community resource for pet owners across Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham, Upminster, Elm Park, Collier Row, Harold Hill and the wider borough.
