NewDeer, Wildlife And Green Fields Under Threat From Proposed Noak Hill Development to Build 120 Homes.

“We Feed The Deer Every Day”. Noak Hill Residents are fearing a 120-home development will destroy their community.

Residents living on Sunset Drive in Noak Hill have spoken of their fears that a proposed development of 120 homes could transform their peaceful neighbourhood forever.

Although a planning application has not yet been formally submitted, residents have been made aware of emerging proposals that could see up to 120 homes built on land behind their properties, along with a new road running across what is currently open countryside.

The prospect of the development has left many local people deeply concerned about the future of their community, the loss of green space and the impact on local wildlife.

Yesterday, residents gathered together to voice their opposition to the proposals and highlight what they say would be the devastating consequences for a close-knit community that has existed for decades.

One resident told the Havering Daily:

“My back garden overlooks the field. We feed the deer every day. We do not want to look out onto a road, hear traffic passing by and see a concrete jungle outside our door.”

Another resident spoke passionately about the sense of community that has developed on Sunset Drive over many years.

“This is a very small but much-loved community. We are all very close and look out for each other. We love living here surrounded by these beautiful views. This would destroy our community. Instead of looking out onto green fields, we would have a road, traffic and houses right next to our gardens.”

For many residents, one of the biggest concerns is the potential impact on wildlife. The surrounding fields are home to deer and a variety of other species that residents regularly see from their homes and gardens.

Locals say the area provides an important wildlife habitat and fear that development could significantly alter the landscape and reduce the space available for animals that currently thrive there.

Many residents have lived on Sunset Drive for more than 20 years and say they chose the area because of its rural feel, tranquillity and connection to nature.

The possibility of hundreds of new residents, additional traffic and a new access road has left many worried that the character of the area could be changed forever.

Campaigners also argue that the land is believed to form part of the Green Belt and say any proposal to build on it should be subject to the highest level of scrutiny through the planning process.

At this stage, no formal planning application has been submitted and the proposals remain at an early stage. However, residents say they are determined to make their voices heard from the outset.

For those living on Sunset Drive, the fight is about far more than housing numbers.

They say it is about protecting a unique community, preserving the countryside that surrounds them and ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the wildlife and open spaces that make Noak Hill such a special place to live.
