Fantastic Free Sporting Sessions Return This Half Term Thanks To Havering Police’s United In Football and Basketball.
Havering Police’s hugely popular Havering United sports initiative returns this week with a series of free football and basketball sessions taking place across the borough.
The programme, run as part of the Clear Hold Build project, aims to bring young people together through sport while building stronger, safer communities across Havering.
The initiative has become a fantastic community event, giving children and teenagers the chance to enjoy organised sporting activities, meet local officers and take part in positive sessions during the half term break.
Sessions will take place at multiple locations across the borough and are completely free to attend.
On Tuesday 26 May, activities will be held at Lawns Park, Mashiters Hill, Collier Row RM1 4TL.
On Wednesday 27 May, a mixed football tournament will take place at Brittons School, Ford Lane, Rainham RM13 7BB from 12pm until 5pm.
Further sessions will then continue on Friday 29 May at Central Park, Dagnam Park Drive, Harold Hill RM3 9DL.
The free sessions include:
Football for primary school aged children from 11am to 12pm
Football for secondary school aged young people from 12pm to 1pm
Basketball for primary school aged children from 12pm to 1pm
Basketball for secondary school aged young people from 1pm to 2pm
Havering United has continued to grow in popularity across the borough and is seen as an important way of engaging young people positively through teamwork, sport and community spirit.
Parents and families are being encouraged to bring children along and support what many are calling one of the borough’s best youth engagement initiatives.
