Romford Salvation Army launch ‘Present Appeal’ to help provide gifts for children most in need.
Are you ready to make a difference to children and families in need in Havering? Help support the Salvation Army in Romford as they continue to provide hope and assistance to the local community. Discover how you can contribute and be a part of the positive change happening in Havering below.
This year has been particularly challenging for some in our community, we have seen an increase in those using our Pantry services which also highlights the difficulties some in our community are facing in light of the cost-of-living crisis. And as such struggles can magnify sadness, loneliness and stress, especially around Christmas time. Our hope is that with your help and support as you have done in past years we would like to make the festive period one that elevates these concerns and can instead bring joy on Christmas morning.
With your help again this year, we are launching from the 30th October to 2nd December our Present Appeal, providing gifts and hampers to children within the looked after system and families who may not be able to buy the items that make Christmas a special time of year.
As in previous years with the help of the local community, we are able to make gift parcels for 0–16-year-olds and hampers which include Christmas Puddings, Christmas biscuits, and Mince Pies. If you can help in any way we know that the community who receive these parcels are truly grateful. I have attached the newsletter from last year’s appeal for you to be able to see the difference the appeal makes to children and families who receive this help.
If you wish to donate any gifts to the community I have attached the information for this year’s appeal. We also have a Just Giving Page for the Christmas Appeal here at Romford should you wish to support in this way. The QR code for the appeal can be found below, or visit our website www.salvationarmy.org.uk/romford

Of course, if you would like any more information about this year’s appeal or the services Romford Salvation Army provides please do not hesitate to contact us.
Wishing you all a Blessed Christmas.
