Man in critical condition after hit and run in Hornchurch.


A man in his 20s is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in the early hours of this morning on Latimer Drive in Hornchurch.

The vehicle did not stop at the scene and officers believe the man was deliberately targeted.

Roads remain closed in the area and a crime scene is in place.

A spokesperson for the Met told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at approximately 00:45hrs on Saturday, 25 June to reports of a man injured after being struck by a car in Latimer Drive, Hornchurch.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries – he remains there in a critical condition.

“His next of kin have been informed.

“The car did not stop at the scene and, at this stage, officers believed it was deliberately driven at the man.

“No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.

“Officers are maintaining a presence and providing reassurance to the local community in the area.”
