Local councillor joins in the Jubilee festivities.
St Albans ward councillor Judith Holt was honoured to attend many of the local celebrations in Romford and Hornchurch last week to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She joined the Mayor of Havering and residents for the Thanksgiving Service and Beacon Lighting at Havering-atte-Bower. Then, on Saturday, she visited Romford Market, chatting to the stall holders, listening to the music of the Royal British Legion Band and Corps of Drums, Romford, and hearing the bells of St. Edward’s ring out the Jubilee!
Councillor Holt was pleased to attend Jubilee Street Parties in her Ward, in Craigdale Road, Clifton Road and Granger Way, plus those in Rockingham Avenue and Repton Gardens. She enjoyed talking to many of her residents, taking part in the activities plus sampling all the delicious home-made cakes and refreshments!
Councillor Holt told the Havering Daily:
“I was delighted to join my Ward residents at their street parties and I thank them for welcoming me so warmly. Everyone was so friendly! It’s wonderful to see their community spirit, with everyone coming together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee and give thanks for Her Majesty’s seventy years of service. God Save the Queen!”
