On Monday evening just before 11pm a bus driver on the 174 route in Harold Hill was subjected to a vicious assault. and had a brick thrown at his bus by two males believed to have been intoxicated. One of the two men was found under the bus, but fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
Police were called and are investigating the incident and the assault on the bus driver.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach London said: “Our first thoughts are with the pedestrian who was injured in the incident, as well as our driver who was subject to a vicious assault. We are in regular contact with our driver and his family and are doing everything we can to support them at this time.
“We do not tolerate any kind of physical or verbal abuse towards our employees and we are taking this matter very seriously. Alongside TfL we will work with the police to push for the strongest possible consequences for this incident.”
