Taksal coordinators retrieve large knife hidden in Harold Hill front garden.

Take A Knife Save A Life coordinators were contacted this morning by local residents after the discovery of a large knife in a Harold Hill front garden.

The anti knife charity acted swiftly and collected the bladed weapon at 11 am from North Hill Drive today.

A Take A Knife Save A Life Co-ordinator told the Havering Daily: “Residents in Harold Hill contacted my team this morning and informed us that a large knife had been found in a front garden in North Hill Drive. I visited the area and retrieved the knife and it has now been safely disposed of.”

The co-ordinator handed the knife over to police officers at Romford police station where it will be destroyed.

“Since this lock down has started we have seen a lot of trouble on our streets,” added the co-ordinator. “Last night there was a lot of trouble in Harold Hill with locals being threatened with knives. I’m glad this one was found and that we have retrieved it before its owners return for it.”

The knife was found hidden in a bag, tucked away in a front garden.
