Councillors Graham Williamson and Natasha Summers along side Ross Elliott and South Hornchurch Labour Action Team’s Trevor McKeever helped serve the food and provide an afternoon of festive spirit for the elderly in the community.

A three course meal was served by volunteers and a raffle was held which included food hampers, boxes of chocolates and biscuits, as well as a few booby prizes.

Mary who won a snow brush in the raffle told the Havering Daily:

“I come to the Christmas meal every year. The food is lovely and I always enjoy myself. Its fantastic that we have this available to us.”

Although the meal is free, people have the opportunity to donate and all money raised goes directly to next years event.
