Havering Council Leader Keith Prince Joins Formal Complaint Against Green Party Leader Zack Polanski

The Leader of Havering Council and London Assembly Member for Havering and Redbridge, Councillor Keith Prince AM, has joined Reform UK London’s formal code of conduct complaint against Green Party Leader Zack Polanski over a social media post that Reform UK say amounts to a call for political violence against Nigel Farage.

Yesterday, 28 July, Reform UK’s London Assembly Members, Alex Wilson and Keith Prince, submitted a formal Code of Conduct complaint alleging that Zack Polanski co-authored a social media post they say amounted to a call for the murder of Nigel Farage.

The post, shown on Instagram feeds as ‘by Zack Polanski’, featured an image of a man wearing a T-shirt displaying the words “we’re only making plans for Nigel” above a depiction of a guillotine. Reform UK says the post amounted to a call for political violence and has criticised the Green Party leader’s handling of the matter.

Alex Wilson AM, Reform UK London Assembly Group Leader, said:

“I am deeply troubled by the fact that Zack Polanski has deflected blame and not apologised for his dangerous social media use. This is not the first time he has got into trouble for his posts, having previously scolded the brave police officers who apprehended the alleged Golders Green attacker. There is no doubt that this vile post is incitement to murder.”

Councillor Keith Prince AM, London Assembly Member and Leader of Havering Council, said:

“I was appalled to see that Zack Polanski co-authored a post inciting violence against Nigel Farage. To say that he was unaware of what he was promoting is frankly risible.”

The image in question.

Totally agree with Keith Prince, Polanski is a total waste of space living off his 5 mins of fame with his MP for Gorton. They wont be happy until Nigel is seriously hurt

Agree it was in bad taste, don’t think Reform have much of a leg to stand on though, after platforming Lucy Connolly, (she who famously said go set fire to all the hotels with migrants in), one is inciting racial hatred, one is not.

Absolutely agree that Polanski made a huge error in posting this message. You are responsible for what you post under your name, inadvertently or not. Polanski doesn’t seem to be up to the job of being a major party leader.

Having said that, it’s a bit rich for Reform figures to be criticising him given some of the incendiary stuff that has gone out online in recent months from the likes of Jenrick and Yusuf and given their response to the hate-filled rhetoric from people such as Lucy Connolly and Allison Pearson: their argument to these posts were ‘it’s freedom of speech’ and that the police should be looking into actual crime rather than ‘hurty words on Twitter’.

Reform now have to hope that none of their MPs, councillors or officers have incendiary posts lurking in their social media accounts or it could come back to bite them.

A touch hypocritical from Mr Prince, I’d say.
