Members of Havering’s Extinction Rebellion were guests in the Lush store in Romford last weekend.
The store that specialises in products that are not tested on animals hosted the team from Extinction Rebellion.
Nolly from the XR Havering Branch told the Havering Daily:
“I want to thank the Romford store for hosting us over the weekend, and the staff being so welcoming and accommodating! They celebrated by ringing a bell at the till each time a charity pot sold and all staff and ourselves would cheer as the money raised from the weekend goes to us to fund our local group to cover hall hire, insurance costs, materials etc.
“It was really great to meet a diverse group of people and engage with the community directly and in a positive way to spread awareness of not only XR but also that there is a local group.
“Our next meetings are in November on the 1st, 15th and 29th. We had positive engagements throughout throughout the weekend and it was also good to reach out to those who don’t live in Havering but nearby in Dagenham, Barking and Redbridge who don’t have an active local group and are naturally more than welcome to attend our group”.
