Gooshayes ward Councillor Paul McGeary has announced he has joined the Havering Residents Association (HRA), departing from his previous affiliation with the local Labour Party.
Thanks to police officers in Harold Hill as part of the Clear Hold Build initiative, a special community day was organised where Primary and Secondary school children had the chance to play basketball and football all day free of charge.

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters managed a fire at a four-storey residential block in Romford. The second and part of the third floor, and half of the connecting stairway of a five-roomed maisonette were damaged. Six dogs died, but there were no human injuries. The fire was brought under control by 9pm. Cause under investigation.

At London Mayor’s Question Time on 23 May, Sadiq Khan confirmed that the Government had awarded outline business case approval to the A127 Gallows Corner refurbishment scheme, and will be funding 85% of the project, with TfL funding the remaining 15%.

Havering Council has formally agreed to protect and designate five new green spaces as Village Greens, preserving them for future generations. These sites include Gooshays, Harold Hill; New Zealand Way, Rainham; Wennington Green, Wennington Village; west of Taunton Road, Harold Hill; and Fleet Close Play Site, Upminster. Councillor Graham Williamson affirmed the council’s commitment to safeguarding valuable green spaces.
