Romford MP Praises ‘Fantastic’ Apple Day at Bedford’s Park
The annual Apple Day celebrations at Bedfords Park Walled Garden in Havering-atte-Bower brought the community together on Sunday for a wonderful celebration of local heritage, nature and the great English apple.

Romford MP Andrew Rosindell attended the festivities, praising the historic walled garden and the dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to preserve and nurture this special corner of Havering.
With its beautiful surroundings and rich history, Bedfords Park Walled Garden offers residents a chance to reconnect with nature, discover the borough’s heritage and enjoy the changing seasons. Apple Day provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate the harvest and recognise the people who help keep this treasured green space thriving.
Mr Rosindell said:
“I was thrilled to attend this year’s splendid ‘Apple Day’ festivities held at the Bedfords Park Walled Garden in Havering-atte-Bower on Sunday.
“We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful historic kitchen garden preserved in Romford that has been looked after and nurtured by such dedicated volunteers, led by Lois Amos.
“Harvestide is the perfect time of year to celebrate the great English apple!
“Visit the Bedfords Park Walled Garden. It’s Romford’s best-kept secret!
“It was a pleasure to see our community come together in one of Romford’s most beautiful and treasured green spaces. The celebrations were a reminder of how much our local natural heritage means to people of all ages, and why we must protect and preserve it for future generations.

“Along with the Essex Wildlife Trust Nature Discovery Centre at Bedfords Park, the Bedfords Park Walled Garden and the Friends of Bedfords Park help local people discover and appreciate the wildlife on our doorstep and, as Romford’s MP, I am proud to support their work.
“My thanks to everyone who helped make Sunday’s celebrations such a success and a magnificent occasion for our community.”
