Special: Harold Hill Comes Alive as Community Unites for Third Fantastic Fun Day

Harold Hill proved once again that community spirit is alive and kicking as thousands of residents came together for the third Fantastic Harold Hill Community Day at Central Park on Saturday 5 September.

It was a day packed with fun, music, activities and plenty of community spirit as local residents, charities, organisations, emergency services and community groups all came together to celebrate everything that makes Harold Hill special.

Organised by RM3 Events alongside local police officers, the event brought together an impressive line-up, including St John Ambulance, local firefighters, charities and organisations working across the community.

And there was certainly no shortage of things to do.

Children enjoyed face painting while residents could receive bike-marking advice, meet emergency service teams and even learn self-defence skills from local police officers.

The atmosphere was boosted throughout the day by Bedrock Radio, alongside talented local singers who took to the stage to showcase their talents.

But perhaps the biggest success of the day was seeing the community itself come together.

Neighbourhoods Inspector Routley told the Havering Daily:

“It was fantastic to see the Harold Hill community come together once again to celebrate everything that makes this such a special place. I’m incredibly proud of what the ‘Our Harold Hill Community Fun Day’ has become and the strong community spirit behind it. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. This really is an event by the community for the community.”

And it seems the event is only getting bigger.

Alex Vella from RM3 Events said:

“Every year this event continues to grow and this year has been another successful community collaboration. Plans are in process for next year already.”

From emergency services to local organisations, performers, volunteers and residents, Saturday’s event demonstrated exactly what can happen when a community comes together.

There was music, laughter, activities and plenty of smiles across Central Park — but above all, there was a real sense of togetherness.

A huge well done must go to Inspector Routley, Jan Sargent, Alex Vella and Ricky Holland for the incredible work that went into bringing everyone together.

Harold Hill has once again shown that its greatest strength is its people.

This was more than just a fun day. It was Harold Hill coming together, supporting one another and celebrating the community it has built.

And if the plans for next year are already underway, it sounds like Harold Hill had better get ready for an even bigger one!
