Harrow Lodge Fire Spreads in Seconds as Residents Join Fight Against Blaze.
Quick-thinking members of the public and staff from Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre helped tackle a grass fire at Harrow Lodge Park before firefighters arrived on the scene.
The fire broke out near the rear car park beyond the leisure centre, with flames spreading rapidly across the dry grass. Witnesses described how the blaze grew within moments because of the exceptionally dry conditions.
Staff from the leisure centre immediately rushed outside with local residents to try to contain the fire while waiting for the London Fire Brigade to arrive.
Residents praised the swift response, saying the fire demonstrated just how easily grassland can ignite during the current hot, dry weather.
Fortunately, firefighters arrived shortly afterwards and brought the incident under control.
