BREAKING: Police Seal Off Hornchurch Street After Substance Attack.

A youth has been treated by emergency services after being doused with an unknown liquid substance in Hornchurch this evening.

The incident happened outside a fish and chip shop at the top of Burnway, where the youth was reportedly standing when a group of youths are believed to have approached him and thrown a liquid substance over him.

Emergency services responded quickly to the scene. Firefighters immediately hosed the youth down before placing him in a specialist protective suit while paramedics assessed him.

Police officers closed off Burnway as emergency services dealt with the incident and began their enquiries.

At this stage, the nature of the substance is not known, and there has been no official confirmation of what was thrown.
