Mayor of Havering Hosts Civic Dinner in Support of Local Charities


The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Gerry O’Sullivan, hosted his Civic Dinner on Friday, 31st January 2025, at Upminster Masonic Hall, bringing together community leaders, councillors, and supporters to raise funds for his chosen charities.

The prestigious event was held in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Appeal 2024-2025, which is supporting Havering Mind and the Havering Association for People with Disabilities (H.A.D.). Guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining, entertainment, and fundraising in the heart of Havering.

In his speech, Councillor O’Sullivan expressed his gratitude to those in attendance, highlighting the importance of the two charities benefiting from the evening.

“My heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude to you all for taking the time to attend my Civic Dinner this evening. The Mayoress and I truly appreciate your ongoing support and generous donations, with all proceeds going to my chosen charities. Wishing you a wonderful evening, filled with great company and goodwill.”

The menu featured a specially prepared menu adding to the elegant atmosphere of the night.

In support of the Mayor’s charities, the directors of the Palms Hotel made a donation.

Supporting Mental Health and Disability Services

Havering Mind provides vital support for mental health in the borough, offering resources and services for individuals and families. Meanwhile, H.A.D. is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities, ensuring they have access to the services and opportunities they need to lead fulfilling lives.
