23 year old athletics coach from Elm Park who preyed on children -found guilty of child exploitation charges including grooming.

After a three day trial at the Old Bailey Michael Duncan 23 years old originally from Elm Park, now living in Wickford was found guilty by a unanimous verdict of child exploitation charges.

There were 8 charges against Michael Duncan, as a number of the charges were similar so were consolidated into fewer charges for ease of the trial.

Mr Michael Duncan resided in Elm Park at the time these sexual crimes took place but has since moved to Wickford.

He prayed on athletes at Havering Athletics Club where he was a senior athlete and also assisted with coaching at the time of these incidents.

Multiple children from Havering Athletics Club made allegations all of which he was found guilty for.

He was found guilty at the Old Bailey yesterday of the following charges:

-Engaging in sexual communication with a child on multiple occasions for sexual gratification. The communication was sexual and was intended as sexual.
-Attempting to engage in sexual activity on multiple occasions with the intentional cause and incitement of a child to engage in sexual activity.
-Causing a child to watch a sexual act for his own sexual gratification and cause a child to look at video footage of himself masturbating.
-Engaging in sexual communication with another child on multiple occasions for sexual gratification. The communication was sexual and was intended as sexual.

The below charges are the charges he pleaded guilty to:

⁃   Making indecent photographs of a child
⁃   Possessing extreme pornographic images of a chicken
⁃   Possessing extreme pornographic images of a dog
⁃   Possessing extreme pornographic images of a pig

Michael Duncan will be sentenced for these crimes at the Old Bailey on 25th November 2021.
