East Area officers tackling drivers of violent crime.

Well done to local officers from the East Area Violent Suppression Unit who worked jointly with Gwent police in executing a warrant in Barking yesterday, 18th of March.

This was one of six warrants executed simultaneously in different locations across England and Wales.

Team 3 of the East Area Violent Suppression Unit led by Police Sergeant Reshma Sher, along with Detectives from Gwent police executed the warrant at 6.30am.

A 38 year old male was arrested at the address and approximately £50,000 worth of Class A drugs and a large amount of cash were seized.

Detective Inspector Hutchinson from East Area Violence Suppression Unit said: “The extent in which drug supply impacts the very heart of our local communities is far reaching. This action by East Area jointly with Gwent Police and Colleagues across England and Wales, shows a determination by East Area VSU to target the drivers of violent crime, the networks which seek to exploit others and which devastate communities as a result.

“I would urge anyone with any information, to contact police on 101 or you can contact crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Drugs recovered following the warrant.
